Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Monday called on the President General Pervez Musharraf and discussed various matters in the light of national political scenario. He also apprised the President of the development programme being carried out in Rawalpindi, with special reference to planned construction of a modern hospital at a cost of Rs one billion.

The federal government under the directives of Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz to provide most modern health facilities to the people will execute the hospital project. The construction work at the hospital will be initiated soon.

Rashid informed the President that a site for establishing an Information Technology University in Rawalpindi had been marked. He also apprised the President of some problems being faced by the residents of Cantonment Board area on which the President assured sympathetic consideration and action by concerned authorities.
